Fly Won’t Leave Me Alone Spiritual Meaning: 7 Negative Messages

Flies are not generally thought of as positive things, either in real life or in a dream/spiritual setting.

Dreaming of a fly, for example, could be a sign that someone in your life is talking badly about you (and other people) behind your back, or acting in otherwise dishonest or deceitful ways.

Seeing flies or dreaming about flies isn’t always something you should as a negative sign, however.

Let’s take a peek at the spiritual meanings of flies, shall we?

What Does a Swarm of Flies Mean Spiritually?

Swarm of Flies

If you’re dreaming about a swarm of flies inside your home or safe space, many cultures believe it’s because you’re either about to fall prey to an enemy with better moves and better tactics than you.

You might not lose the whole battle, but there’s going to be a small fight or two that you lose along the way.

With wins we must take losses, sadly.

That’s just part of life.

Flies Are Attracted to Me: Is It Normal?

Fly

Flies that constantly fly around and annoy you could be symbolic of something or someone annoying in your non-spiritual life

It could also be symbolic of you, if you are the type of person who:

  • Doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty;
  • Can adapt to survive and thrive in a wide range of habitats and environments;
  • And are great at working with what is available.

Flies in many cultures are considered bad – dirty, filthy, disease-ridden pests. They’re not always bad, though.

They’re one of nature’s cleaner-uppers.

Flies have their place in the ecosystem whether you think they’re gross or not.

Without them, there would be a lot of very unpleasant things taking a very long to decompose.

What Does Attracting Flies Mean? Do I have Negative Energies in Me?

The negative energies from flies

Attracting flies could be a sign of negative energies inside you, yes… But it could also be a sign of many other things.

Many cultures see the fly as a sign of incoming change, but maybe you’ll need to be a little adaptable to make that change work.

Alternatively, if a fly is locked in a room and constantly flying around you, it could be associated with feelings of being trapped or locked-in.

Do you feel like the fly in that room? Trapped in, no way of escaping, constantly bashing your head against the window pane?

Fly Won’t Leave Me Alone: 7 Spiritual Meanings and Negative Messages

Fly Won’t Leave Me Alone Spiritual Meaning

Seeing flies, dreaming of flies, of being bombarded with flies can have positive and uplifting connotations, but it is, unfortunately, more commonly linked with negative situations and news. Let’s take a little look, but I must warn you: it’s more bad than good.

1) Beware of Your Fake Friends

Have you ever heard of the saying, “fly in the ointment”? It’s associated with having a product (the ointment) almost turn out okay, but a fly arriving and heading straight to it, the whole thing is ruined.

  • Could one of your friends be the literal fly in the ointment of your life?
  • Do things keep going wrong when they’re around?
  • Are they sabotaging you, either intentionally or subconsciously?

The fly-slash-your friend could be preventing you from getting the happiness you deserve, whether that’s in terms of something small, such as buying a pair of shoes you’ve been dying to buy, or something big, such as getting a new job.

2) Negative Energies in Your Home

When there are flies buzzing around in your home, you get annoyed.

The fly or flies are an annoyance, causing negative energies in the room… and perhaps it’s mirroring the energies in your real life.

Is someone in your household causing you problems? Maybe the sink in the bathroom has sprung a leak, or the toilet won’t flush properly, or the oven won’t work.

Flies in your home, especially when there are more than a couple of them, could be an indication of negativity in your home and/or surrounding you

3) Don’t Trust People Too Much

Having too much trust in people can be just bad, if not worse, than not trusting anybody at all.

When you trust people with your secrets, especially people you don’t know well or haven’t known for long, you run the risk of those secrets getting out.

What happens if the two of you have a falling out? Will they share your secrets with the world?

It’s good to open up to people, but it’s bad to open up too soon, or too much.

If you have a weird gut feeling about someone, don’t ignore.

Pay attention to it.

Your own intuition will help you so much more if you just give it a chance.

4) Someone is Jealous of You

Do you keep seeing flies buzzing around above your head, or dreaming of it?

This is said to be a spiritual warning.

Someone in your circle of people is looking at you with eyes full of envy… and potentially planning your downfall at the same time

  • Is there someone in your life who seems to be an enemy but calls themselves a friend?
  • How much of a friend have they really been to you?
  • Or are they just hanging around because you’ve got something they want?

5) There Are Betrayals in Your Life

If the fly won’t leave you alone no matter what room you’re in, how many times you move around the home, and even when you leave the home, maybe you’re on the cusp of a big betrayal.

In some cultures, a particularly persistent fly is linked to exactly that: big betrayals

Betrayal can be so much more than just being cheated on by a lover or partner, although that is completely soul destroying in its own right.

You can betray yourself, or someone else, just as much as other people can betray you

Maybe your purely platonic friend will announce that your relationship isn’t platonic to them anymore.

It’s a betrayal, almost like the agreement of the friendship has been breached.

Or perhaps they’ll reveal your deepest and darkest secrets to the world

6) You Are Ignoring Your Problems

The buzzing of a fly is constant, frustrating, and doesn’t go away unless you physically do something about it, in most cases.

This could be a sign of your subconscious sending you a message rather than a spiritual sign from the universe or those passed over into another realm.

What problems have you been ignoring in your life?

  • Are there bills left unpaid on your kitchen countertop?
  • Medical issues gone ignored?
  • Betrayals looked over out of fear of being alone?

Those problems will still be there after you ignore them.

Even if you ignore them for a week, a month, a year, or a decade, they will still be there, chasing you around, buzzing in your ear like that annoying fly in your home.

If you don’t sort your problems out, particularly when they are big problems, your spiritual self and subconscious will come together to warn you about it.

Actually, ‘nag’ is a more suitable word.

The irritating buzz of that fly is the equivalent of your spiritual self nagging you!

7) Don’t Forget Who Helped You in the Past

Once again, this spiritual meaning could easily be a message sent from your own subconscious (and perhaps a bit of guilt) as from the universe or somewhere else.

When flies seem to flock to you, for no reason, it might be because you need a little reminder of just how you got to where you are… and who helped to get you there

Flies are adaptable, and maybe that’s the case for you, too. They can simply leave a situation or thing behind, to find bigger and better things.

Is that what you’re doing? Are you using and disposing of people (or things) when they no longer prove useful to you?

It’s a bad idea to forget where you come from, and the people who helped you in the past, to get from there to here.

A Fly Keeps Following Me: Should I Be Concerned?

Flies following me in spiritual meaning

If you are due to go off on a journey or big, new adventure soon, a fly that keeps following you could be a sign that it’s not the greatest idea.

Maybe flights will get delayed, or you’ll run out of money halfway through your trip, or a bad event is going to happen that the universe is trying to protect you from.

If a potential spiritual sign keeps bugging you, perhaps you’re not listening, or paying attention.

  • Why does the fly keep following you around, buzzing annoyingly, constantly and consistently reminding you of its presence?
  • What could it be telling you?
  • What dangers may lie ahead?

What Should I Do to Protect Myself Spiritually?

About the flies negative energies

In order to protect yourself spiritually from a bad or potentially negative sign you have received, you must first try to work out what the sign itself actually means.

So, for example, if flies buzz around your house all day and all night, for seemingly no reason, perhaps it’s linked to that up-and-coming holiday you have booked? Or a trip you were due to take for work?

Once you’ve figured out the meaning, you can then protect yourself.

If travelling is a concern, perhaps you should choose another form of transport for a while or postpone the trip for a few days.

You should think of so-called bad spiritual signs as good ones, because they act as a warning.

When there’s a sign that says, “Fast currents, do not swim!” next to a river, you’d be foolish to jump in. Spiritual warnings are exactly the same.

The message on the sign isn’t obvious straight away, however; that’s the difference.

Are Flies a Spiritual Sign of Getting Sick?

Yes, in some cultures, seeing flies in a dream or being surrounded by flies in waking life is linked becoming unwell – but that’s not always the case.

Also, sickness doesn’t always mean a great disaster.

The sickness in question could be a common cold, or a touch of hay fever, or maybe even a broken little toe.

They’re life-altering for a brief period, but they’re not long-term or seriously debilitating (for most people).

What Does it Mean When You Kill a Fly?

If you kill the fly that’s been irritating the heck out of you, you will be victorious, according to some cultures and belief systems.

You have simply removed the problem from your life.

The fly is dead, and so will whatever the problem is.

Of course, some people believe that killing ANY animal on earth will be met with a decent helping of bad karma.

This one is a judgment call, I’m afraid.
